1) Notes ("An Empire for Slavery")-Part 1
2) a) Hand out "Tips For Answering Compare/Contrast Questions When Analyzing Documents"
    b) 4 groups: Compromise of 1850 (Day 1 of 2).  Question to answer: "Compare and contrast the 
        views of Document A and Document B on the Compromise of 1850".
    c) Individually, take notes following the guidelines
    d) As a group, write 2 paragraphs for group presentation on Monday using the guidelines

3) Homework: McPherson reader, pages 103-116 ("An Empire for Slavery")-Part 2
Focus your reading on:  a) Gadsden Purchase  b) Role of Cuba on the slavery issue  c) Ostend Manifesto  d) Role of Nicaragua/William Walker on the slavery issue
