2) Notes ("The Imperial Slave Economy").
3) Movie: "Roots" (first part).
--Take 2-column notes (at least 1 page):
a) Specific examples of how the movie portrays Africans, and b) whites.
c) Focus on attitudes, actions, and beliefs. How did the slavery system work?
4) Homework: Textbook, pages 93-98 ("The New Politics of Empire").
